En los faldeos de la precordillera de la región central de Chile, en una fuerte pendiente e inmerso entre distintas especies de árboles nativos se encuentra ubicado un pequeño refugio que temporalmente da cobijo a una familia de 4 personas. Su orientación aprovecha la pendiente lo que permite apreciar el valle que se abre entre el apretado cajón cordillerano.

Esta minúscula construcción ha sido pensada como si de una carpa se tratase, una concentración puntual de energía y recursos que se acomoda al delicado ecosistema en el que se emplaza. Desde ella es posible realizar excursiones de distinta duración por quebradas y cerros. Boldos, litres, quillayes, quilas, peumos y robles componen principalmente la vegetación circundante, entre ellos dejan su huella distintos animales como los zorros culpeo que le siguen el paso a arrieros que pastorean los faldeos.

La dificultad de acceso definió una lógica de prefabricación en casi la totalidad de las piezas utilizadas en su construcción, estas fueron previamente trabajadas en San Clemente distante a poco más de 80 kilómetros. Su constructor previamente dedicaba el quehacer a montar galpones metálicos para compañías mineras en el norte del país, aprovechar esta expertís permitió trabajar materialmente con la precisión propia del acero.

7 marcos de madera sostienen un único espacio. Una caja Semiopaca y de mayor tamaño envuelve un interior que pierde volumen y se hace más permeable hacia el exterior. En su parte superior ligeramente separada, una cubierta de acero protege de la lluvia y ocasionalmente de la nieve. Se apoya puntualmente sobre 4 rocas existentes he igual cantidad de fundaciones de hormigón mediante una estructura de acero que define su horizontalidad.

Un camarote desplazable construye un altillo donde dormir muy atractivo para los niños a la vez que determina espacios mas pequeños donde estar o cocinar. Mediando con el exterior piezas de madera de pequeña escuadría dan forma a una terraza que se abre completamente al valle a media altura entre los árboles cercanos.

In the foothills of the premountain range of the central region of Chile, on a strong slope and immersed among different species of native trees is located a small retreat that temporarily gives shelter to a family of 4 people. Its orientation takes advantage of the slope which allows to appreciate the valley that opens up between a tight mountain area.

This tiny construction has been thought as if it was a tent, a punctual concentration of energy and resources that accommodates to the delicate ecosystem in which it is located. From here is possible to make excursions of different lengths along ravines and hills. Native trees like boldos, litres, quillayes, quilas, peumos and oaks make up mainly the surrounding vegetation, among them different animals leave their mark like foxes that follow the steps of the cowboys.

The difficulty to access the site defined the logic of prefabrication in almost all the pieces used in the construction, these were previously worked in San Clemente, which is a bit more than 80 kilometers away. The constructor previously worked as a builder of metallic sheds for mining companies in the north of the country, his expertise allowed to work with different materials but with the same precision of the steel.

7 wooden frames create a single space. A larger semi-opaque box wraps an interior that loses volume and becomes more permeable towards the outside. In its slightly separated upper part, a steel roof protects against trainband occasionally snow. There treatleanson 4 existing rocks and on an equal amount of concrete foundations, these are connected through a steel structure that defines its horizontality.

A displaceable bed builds an attic where you can sleep and it is very attractive for children this element determinates also smaller spaces where to stay or where to cook. Dialoguing with the exterior, small pieces of wood are forming a terrace in between the trees that opens completely to the valley.
