La facultad de Arquitectura Música y Diseño de la Universidad de Talca creada en 2014 es una de las más jóvenes dentro de esta universidad, por ende se encuentra en un estado primigenio de desarrollo como ente social, en este contexto el proyecto propone la reforma del subterráneo de la escuela de Música, un espacio de 150 m2 abandonado desde hace más de 25 años en un inicio debido que se empezó a ocupar como bodega y luego a las constantes inundaciones anteriores a la realización del actual desagüe.
Dentro de este escenario y con escases de recursos disponibles para la realización de la obra el proyecto más que proponer algo nuevo trabaja bajo la lógica del mínimo y a partir de acciones precisas como liberar todo aquello que no es estructuralmente necesario, revincular al edificio abriendo las circulaciones existentes, reciclar algunos materiales almacenados por años, pintar cambiar puertas y ventanas se reforma el espacio a bajo costo ya que el coste es asumido por la dirección de infraestructura de la universidad como mantenciones y reparaciones.
Es entonces que el proyecto da nueva vida al espacio generando un “Exclave” en la facultad, un espacio flexible dentro de la libertad que ofrece una planta lo más libre posible que es capas de albergar diversas actividades que relacionan las tres carreras creando cohesión social y sentido de pertenencia en los estudiantes.
The Faculty of Architecture Music and Design of the University of Talca created in 2014 is one of the youngest within this university, therefore it is in a primitive state of development as a social entity, in this context the project proposes the reform of the underground that belongs to the School of Music, a space of 150 m2 abandoned for more than 25 years, at the beginning due to the fact that it began to be occupied as a sorage and then to the constant floods prior to the realization of the current drainage.
Within this scenario and with scarce resources available for the realization the project rather than proposing something new works under the logic of the minimum and white precise actions such as freeing everything that is not structurally necessary, re-linking the building by opening the existing circulations, recycling some materials stored for years, paint, change doors and windows. The project needed to reform the space at low cost since the cost is assumed by the direction of infrastructure of the university as maintenance and repairs.
It is then that the project gives new life to the space generating an “Exclave” in the faculty, a flexible space that is capable of housing diverse activities that relate the three schools, creating social cohesion and sense of belonging in students.
